Have you ever wanted to be able to just ramble meaningless words that really have no significance, but just feel wonderful to get out? Well, that is what this blog is for me. Sure, it's nice to have a place to write about the day to day happenings of your life, but I don't want to write about that. I want to write about how the sound of violins playing is one of the most soothing tones my ears have ever heard. Or how sunset behind the mountains is to die for. These may not be things that really matter in the whole scheme of things, but they are what I love most an carry much more significance for me than the bigger things.
So here we go!
This right here is home.
It's not where I was born.
It's not where I grew up.
In fact, I haven't even lived a sizable portion of my days here,
yet it still holds a place that only home could.
It doesn't matter that the weather here drives me completely insane
Or that it gets way too cold in the winter.
Or even that this is the exact view I see when coming back from a miserable time at the testing center.
Nothing can seem to tarnish the beauty of this scene for me.
And honestly, I don't think anything ever will.
This is another picture that I took on my relaxing and much needed hike/walk. This picture resonates with me on so many levels. The chaos and movement surrounding this one flower...the story of my life. While the world is frantically running circles around in quite a mess, I have learned something quite important: It doesn't have to be like that. We don't have to be lost. By setting aside time to read and really ponder the words of current and ancient prophets, I can control my life. Because of the gospel in my life, I am this pink flower who still manages to avoid the haze surrounding. I am strong, and I have the Lord to think entirely for that.
Beauty really is a peculiar thing. It really depends on what we are looking for. Sometimes I find that something I have passed by almost everyday really has something to it. Before, I may have seen it as simple existing, being of no interest to me, yet, the next day it may captivate me as I see things in a completely different way.
Beauty is subjective. It really is in the eye of the beholder. I have seen the most beautiful people I have known in my life be called plain because they just weren't what the individual was looking for.
I've learned that it's always better to see the beautiful, even if others can't see it. It opens your eyes to a whole new world. It blesses you with gifts that you might never have received otherwise, and it gives you the insight to really understand the world around you and see how delicately God created each and every one.
The beauty of this temple never fails to astonish me. Here it is, this tiny tabernacle in comparison to that of the Nauvoo or St.Louis, which I am much more accustomed to seeing, yet this view takes my breath away after time I pass it.
I love the surreal feeling that takes over when I simply stare at it in amazement.
I love the spirit that sweeps over me as my thoughts can't help but got to Him and His sacrifice for us.
I love the fact that I have it so close to me and can easily go in and walk on its grounds.
And I love how many people I see filling out on my runs, because I know that they are truly putting their hearts where they should be.
This is one of my favorite places in the world to be(well temples collectively) and I feel soooo blessed to be near one.
